Voice update, performance update, and mnemonics!
VOICEVOX Nemo voices now cover questions, heavier pages got a performance pass, and kana mnemonics are starting to land with kanji planned next.
01 Voice update
- VOICEVOX Nemo is now the preferred voice source for Japanese questions, so every learner can hear consistent voices during practice instead of depending on whatever browser voices happen to be installed.
- The browser speech path still remains as a fallback when a static clip is unavailable, but the main course audio now has a clearer shared baseline.
02 Performance update
- The Japanese roadmap, Hub transitions, lesson introductions, and celebration animations received a hefty performance pass focused on smoother scrolling, fewer long tasks, and lighter paint work on mid-range laptops.
- Animation polish now leans harder on transform and opacity instead of blur, backdrop effects, and persistent compositor hints.
03 Mnemonics
- We started adding illustrated mnemonics for every hiragana and katakana so kana introductions can connect each symbol to a stronger visual memory hook.
- Kanji mnemonics are part of the direction too, once the kana set is in a good place.
